Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna who last appeared in Shahrukh Khan box office collections hit film ‘Dilwale’ in 2015 passed away earlier today after reportedly battling cancer. The actor gave some of the most remarkable and memorable hits during film career that started in the year 1968, starting with his debut role in Sunil Dutt’s film Man Ka Meet. Khanna played roles of a villain initially and thereafter that of the hero. Some of his best performances were in films like Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Mere Apne, Jail Yatra, Gaddaar, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Kucche Khaage, Inkaar, Amar Akhbar Anthony, Kudrat, Qurbani, Jurm among others. Vinod Khanna had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the year 1997, he was also a former Union Minister for Culture and Tourism but was later moved to the Ministery of External Affairs (MoS).

The sudden demise of the legendary actor has shocked everyone. His colleagues from both Bollywood and politics have paid tribute to the actor on Twitter. President Pranab Mukherjee also took to Twitter to pay his condolences, “Heartfelt condolences on. the passing away of Shri Vinod Khanna, a highly talented and acclaimed actor & MP.” Director Karan Johar whose Baahubali 2 is due tomorrow has cancelled the premiere of the movie today, wrote, “His screen presence is unparalleled even today…his superstar swag is what we grew up on….RIP #VinodKhanna …thoughts and prayers….”, “As a mark of respect to our beloved Vinod Khanna the entire team of Baahubali has decided to cancel the premiere tonight…” Here are the Twitter reactions:
