The Kapil Sharma Show has finally got a replacement for Sunil Grover after he exited the stage over a mid-air tiff with Kapil Sharma. After much drama over whether he is staying or going, it finally transpires that Grover is not just leaving, he actually left quite a while ago. The Kapil Sharma Show finally has got someone to replace and and not just as a guest, but on a wholetime basis. It now transpires, comedian Raju Srivastava who has given performances on the show previously on a stand-in basis, is going to be the new entrant. The same has been confirmed. “Yes, I have started shooting for this show. The channel and the team are happy with the episodes I have shot for them and have called me for more episodes,” he told NDTV.
Raju said, “I don’t know how the channel is going to represent my character or my acts to the audience. But this is true that I’m shooting for the show and will feature in the show as a ‘new entry’.” On the other hand, Sunil Grover is said to be shooting for Indian Idol’s finale episode. The actor had told media, that he will be doing live gigs only for some time and has unofficially resigned from the Kapil Sharma Show. For Indian Idol’s finale, he will be playing Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi – his famous character on Kapil’s show. Reports said he has been seen shooting for it in Film City.
However, it remains to be seen whether Grover will ever return and there is a big question mark over the show managing to retain its original identity. With a new entrant, audience may feel a change. After Grover left the show, Chandan Prabhakar and Ali Asgar have also been ‘boycotting’ Kapil Sharma’s show. Sources close to the show said they were hopeful of Ali Asgar aka Naani will return to the shoot, But on Wednesday these hopes didn’t come true, as the actor didn’t show up. The last few episodes didn’t do well according to critics, but with a new entrant the show is hanging in balance.
