After blasting Nicki Minaj on Twitter, Taylor Swift has now lend a hand to patch things up by inviting the rapper to join her on MTV Video Music Awards stage if she won.
It all began when Minaj admitted to have felt insulted post receiving just three nominations ahead of the awards, tweeting that if she was a “different ‘kind’ of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well,” the Mirror reported.
She added, “When the ‘other’ girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination. If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.
I’m not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it (sic).”
This made the ‘Bad Blood’ singer, 25, who’s up for awards in nine categories, believe that Minaj was targeting her and she got into a verbal war saying, “I’ve done nothing but love and support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..”
But Minaj replied right back clarifying that she never said a word about her and loved her just as much.
Swift then took the step to men her mistake and wrote, “If I win, please come up with me!! You’re invited to a stage I’m ever on.”
However, the 32-year-old rapper merely retweeted a string of messages from her fans, including one which reads, “Believe it or not, there are some things that are so much BIGGER than you, @taylorswift13. You owe @NickiMinaj an apology.”
