Sunny Leone has beaten the likes of Salman Khan and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the most searched personality category on Yahoo for the fifth year in a row. PM Modi came in at the second spot, followed by chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Despite being the sultan of the box office, Salman Khan clinched the number 4 spot. In the category of the most searched male celebrities, however, Sallu came out as the winner. Surprisingly, the second spot was claimed by comedian Kapil Sharma, who beat out Bollywood stalwarts Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar respectively.

Ajay Devgn took the seventh spot, while Indian stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhatt came in eighth, probably owing his fame to the Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor roast controversy in AIB Knockout. He was followed by Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

In the category of the most searched female celebrity, Bipasha Basu took the second spot, thanks to the buzz surrounding her wedding to Karan Singh Grover. She managed to beat out Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra, who came in third, fourth and fifth respectively. The tragic death of TV star Pratyusha Banerjee landed the late actress in the sixth spot, followed by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Apte and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, according to a report in the Indian Express. Oddly enough, Alia Bhatt didn’t make the list, despite her back-to-back successes this year of Kapoor & Sons, Udta Punjab and Dear Zindagi.
