Simran box office collection day 2: Though Kangana Ranaut starrer Simran started off rather cold, the day 2 collections show a slight improvement. There is no denying the fact that Simran hit the silver screen with a lot of anticipation, but failed to re-create the expected magic. But the film producers can heave a sigh of relief given the latest reports which suggest that the film has witnessed a growth of 35.74% – not much, but still something to look forward to. Simran had started off with Rs 2.77 cr on Friday and earned Rs 3.76 cr on Saturday making Rs 6.53 cr in total. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted saying, ” #Simran witnessed 35.74% growth on Day 2… Fri 2.77 cr, Sat 3.76 cr. Total: ₹ 6.53 cr. India biz.” However, one thing is clear, the trend has been more or less cemented.
Simran hit the screens with Farhan Akhtar’s Lucknow Central and so far both have been beset by problems. On one hand where Kangana starrer earned Rs 2.77 cr on day 1, Lucknow Central made Rs 2.04 cr. Despite highlight flaws in Ketan Mehta’s directorial venture, one aspect which every critic has agreed to is Kangana’s outstanding performance in the film. She carries the whole movie on her shoulders and it is difficult to take your eyes off this enigmatic lady. Overall the movie is to Kangana, for Kangana and by Kangana in all aspects.
