There have been rumours that Sajid Nadiadwala might be starting work on Kick 2 in the immediate future. While speaking to Bollywood Hungama on the occasion of completion of 60 years of his family’s contribution to Hindi films, Nadiadwala denied these rumours. “I’m not on twitter. My wife keeps giving me messages that people want Kick 2 but my hands are full. I have lots of films for the next four years. Every year there are four films lined up. All of them are big. It is my duty towards my directors and other actors that the reason why they do my films, I must live upto it. I am trying that in the next few years (before I start my next directorial venture), I want my production house to deliver the best content in the country. I want the best talent to work with me, I must tell best stories to the world, people should be proud to be associated with our company, all the top directors. There can be no other person to facilitate their requirements in a better manner because I’m a director myself. I’m trying to be the best production facility in the country. I don’t think as of now I’ll be able to do justice to direction in the immediate future.”
Fans of Salman Khan are keen on Kick 2 since Kick is the first film where Salman crossed the Rs 200 Crore mark. “Whenever I meet Salman we keep coming up with ideas. When we met during Arpita’s marriage recently, we discussed a few ideas but developing any idea takes time, at least two years. He’s busy right now. In my next directorial venture, Salman will most certainly be there. Whenever we work next, it should live upto the expectations. It is easy to cross 100 Crores these days but it takes a lot of efforts to creep towards the next number that is 200.” Will it be Kick 2 ? “That I don’t know, nothing has been discussed.” But apparently you’ve registered a title called ‘Devil’. “Yes my office wanted me to register the title since they felt, it could be a good title for Kick sequel. We have registered the title but there’s nothing more to it,” Nadiadwala said.
Sajid Nadiadwala was the key member who played an active role at Arpita Khan’s marriage at the Falaknuma Palace Hotel in Hyderabad recently. He, along with Aamir Khan and Riteish Deshmukh helped the groom Ayush Sharma get down from the horse after reaching the marriage venue. “Kamaal ki party thi. We had a lot of fun till 6 am in the morning. Salim sahib sang a few songs. Galaxy apartments is known for their hospitality and wherever they travel they carry the same hospitality. Everyone was treated with kid gloves,” Sajid said. Apparently you and Salman were supposed to get married on November 18, 1999, the same day as Salim Khan sahib and Salma Maa’m’s marriage anniversary? “Yes that was in 2000 and not 1999 as misquoted earlier in a newspaper. I wanted to get married the same day as Salim sahib and Salma Aunty. I and Salman were supposed to get married the same day in the year 2000. I got married but Salman didn’t.” Who was the girl that Salman was supposed to get married to in 2000? “That’s the mystery, uske charges alag honge,” Sajid said with a smile.
Sajid Nadiadwala also confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that he’s indeed making the remake of Magadheera and it will star Shahid Kapoor. He revealed that the work on scripting will start sometime in April 2015 and the film will most probably roll by the end of 2015. With regards to Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha clashing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baajirao Mastaani during Christmas 2015, Sajid said, “We announced long time back. They have started now. But I think Christmas can take two films.”
