Rajinikanth mania is all set to start again, as the Thalaiva will soon hit the silver screen to enthrall fans with his newest flick-Kaala Karikaalan. The movie was earlier named as Thalaivar 164, however, it was re-named and now a stunning poster with the new name has been introduced.

Movie’s poster was released by Dhanush on Twitter. Revealing the poster, Dhanush wrote, “Wunderbar films presents .. superstar Rajinikanth in and as thalaivar164.” This will be the very first instance of Rajinikanth and Dhanush coming together. Reports say that Huma Qureshi has been signed to play the female lead in the flick.

After the superhit Kabali, the new movie will be Rajinikanth’s second project with celebrated director Pa Ranjith. As per director Ranjith, Rajinikanth will play the man from Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli, who runs away to Mumbai as a child, and goes on to become a powerful don living in Dharavi slums.

Check out Dhanush’s Tweets of posters for different languages:

The movie is going to have many action-packed scenes, the word ‘Kala’ in the title, translates to ‘dark’ in English. The director has said that Rajinikanth is Kaala to those who oppose him. As it always happens with Rajnikanth-starrer flicks, Kaala became a top trend in India within minutes of its announcement.

While Kaala means dark in many languages, it also stands for Yama, the god of death. The other name Karikaalan, was a popular Chola king.
