It’s no secret that everyone is excited about the star-studded 2.0, which had its first look launch at Yash Raj Studios on Sunday. However, one person seems to be particularly looking forward to it and that person is none other than Salman Khan. The proof? The Sultan actor dropped in at the event over the weekend, but revealed that he hadn’t even received an invitation for it.
Just as the Q&A session for the hotly anticipated film was about to start, someone from the film’s team rushed to Akshay’s side and whispered something in his ear. The Housefull star immediately walked to the entrance door and a few seconds later, came back with Salman Khan. “I wasn’t invited. I heard they were doing this and I decided to come to meet Rajini Garu. He is the most amazing man. I have a lot of respect for him. I wasn’t invited but got to know about the launch and came here. We were once doing a shoot together – jhumma chumma. And when I went to the bathroom, Rajini garu was there throwing cigarettes and catching it with his mouth. I asked him, ‘What are you doing?’ He said, ‘There is a lot of wind outside. So I am doing it here.’ It was an open air concert and very cold and windy outside. So I went backstage to see if Rajini could catch the cigarette with his mouth in one go and he did it in one single shot,” he told the cheering audience.
Rajinikanth seemed touched by this, as he said, “If Salman says yes, I’ll work with him in a film even tomorrow.” The Dabangg star further only had high praise for Akshay, saying, “He is very talented and hardworking. He is the only actor who has grown further and further while all of us have remained stagnant.”
Celebritites who gave the event a miss included Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Haasan. Aside from the film’s first look launch, Akshay has been doing his own share of promoting when he posted his character’s first look on Twitter, captioned, “Evil has a new face!”
