Raabta collection: Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta, which released on Friday last week has failed to live up to its box office collections expectations with the film only managing to make Rs 15.93 crore in its opening weekend and making only Rs 5.21 crore on Sunday and on Monday it made just Rs 2.53 cr. The film which is directed by Dinesh Vijan has only managed to Rs 18.46 crore net in India, according to Bollywood Hungama.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput had earlier said that the failure of the film wouldn’t affect him. Rajput said, ”Failure does not scare me, but I am aware of its repercussions. After I left Delhi College of Engineering to pursue theater I was staying in a room with six other guys, I know the repercussions I am not afraid,” Indian Express reported.
The actor added, ”When I was doing theater I used to think I have to slog right now to achieve more success, I was successful then also in my field, in theater and then in TV”.
Although Raabta hasn’t been a success at the box office, those on the other side of the screen, the audience have liked the onscreen chemistry of Sanon and Rajput in the movie, and this has driven speculation about their alleged relationship, IE reported. Sushant had this to say about his co-star, ”Kriti is a very dear and special friend and we have a lot of things in common. Sanon is a very transparent person and I admire her.”
Considering that the film is not having a great word of mouth boost, the chances of it doing well going forward are remote. Also, considering that there is no big rival movie in theatres at the moment, Rabta not doing well is really a big comment on its quality.
