Poster Boys box office collection Day 1: Poster Boys casting Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Shreyas Talpade saw a very slow start at the box office. The movie could only make Rs 1.80 crore at the box office on Day 1. The earnings were much less than what was predicted by trade analyst Girish Johar who had predicted that the movie will do decent business at the box office and will bag somewhere around Rs 3 crore on its opening day. “I am expecting roughly around Rs 3 crores. The Deols have a strong fan-base in the northern side of India, hence I am expecting it to do better there,” Girish Johar had said talking to Indian Express. Interestingly, in the movie, the Deol brothers are sharing the silver screen after almost a gap of 4 years.
Poster Boyz released on the same date as Daddy and that could be one of the major reasons why it could not make much on the opening day despite being a fun, comical flick. Daddy made 1.80 crore on Day 1.
Poster Boys is a remake of 2014 Marathi hit Poshter Boyz and is based on a classic confusion. The better halves of the lead actors left confused and angry at seeing their partners on a poster promoting vasectomy and the way they react leave the ‘poster boyz’ in a mess they have not even created.
Where Shreyas Talpade and Boddy Deal are quite entertaining in the film, Sunny Deol too is seen trying his best to fit in the comic role. Ashwini Kalsekar’s performance too catches the eye and stands out.
The movie is packed with comic chaos, drama and belly tickling dialogues and it could well be people’s choice this weekend.
The day 1 earnings of the film might not have been able to meet the analysts’ expectations but the movie sure has the potential to make up for it in the coming days.
