When was the last time you heard a Japanese video song of less than 2 minutes that might have rocked a mass of people? Many probably will not even remember.
Piko Taro, an anecdotal musician and a native of Tokyo seems to have broken the myth and is suddenly the blue eyed boy of the world of internet virals.
None less than Justine Bieber who commands more than 88 million followers on twitter could resist himself from sharing the video and said, “This video is one of the favorite funny videos of him.”
The video was first posted on YouTube on August 25, 2016 and has gone viral ever since, with over 45 million views and 400 thousand likes, including counts from various sources. The video was also posted on Facebook by 9GAG, where it has over 59 million views, over 500 thousand likes and almost 1 million shares.
This earworm-style music video performed by Piko-Taro was created by Japanese comedian Kosaka Daimaou.
