Lucknow Central box office collections day 1: Farhan Akhtar starrer was not expected to make a big BO splash and that is exactly what it has done. No surprises here, as it has gone to log 12 pct occupancy rate. The fans were expecting it to be a tough contest between the two movies starring some big names but neither of them got a good opening. Both Lucknow Central and Simran got a 12 percent occupancy rate in India which means that they will find it difficult to recover their production cost.
The third movie of this week, Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi starring veterans Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal had an even worse start. The film was almost a non-starter failing to attract the crowd. “A new Friday… But the story remains the same… New film releases open [morning + noon shows] to dull response,” tweeted business analyst Taran Adarsh.
Coming back to Lucknow Central, the makers did little to no promotion in the run up to its release which was one of the reasons behind its poor start. Moreover, the movie didn’t have too many known faces apart from Farhan to woo the audience. Bad reviews mean that it will be tough for the movie to pick up in the coming days as well.
