After a bizarre rant onstage on Saturday and canceling his upcoming concert dates, Kanye West was hospitalised on Monday, after having a meltdown. A source claimed the Bound 2 rapper was suffering from exhaustion, saying, “He’s just exhausted. He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and the Adidas line. He’s a notorious workaholic, so balancing both that work, which is extremely important to him, and the rigors of the tour every night, it really wore him out.” The source added, however, that West’s condition was stable. The rest of the 21 dates on the singer’s Saint Pablo tour have been canceled – a move which is estimated to cost around $27 million in ticket refunds to fans.
West’s physical and mental strain was perhaps evident during his concert last Saturday, where insulted Beyonce, Jay Z and the music industry and then walked off the stage just 30 minutes into the gig. Last week, the rapper was also booed off stage in San Jose, California, after he said that he didn’t vote in the recently concluded election but that he would have voted for Trump had he gotten the chance. However, this his hardly West’s first time behaving oddly on stage. Last year, he announced that he would be running for president of the US in 2020 during the Video Music Awards (VMAs) and in the 2009 VMAs, he famously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.
