Simran box office collections predictions: At this juncture, the industry, as well as the public, is well aware of the fact that Bollywood’s Queen Kangana Ranaut is not someone who abides by the rule book – or for that matter any normal rule at all. Her recent and past brushes with controversy has not only created the desired buzz for her upcoming movie Simran but also has raised the stakes in Bollywood. Simran is set to release on Friday, September 15 and it has quickly become one of the most talked about films of the year despite the lack of star power. Given critical as well as box office success of Kangana’s Queen and other films, expectations from her upcoming film has risen up as a result. According to reports, the film is set to open to an earnings of Rs 14-15 crore. And if all things go well and it is followed by a good word of mouth boost, the overall collection of Simran may get an even better sum. The film story fits Kangana’s character like a glove and much will depend on whether she can be herself in the role.
Kangana’s last release was Vishal Bharadwaj directed Rangoon starring Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan which performed miserably at the box office. If you go by the stats, after the release of Queen in 2013, Kangana has hardly given a successful movie except for Tannu Weds Mannu sequel. Despite her movies fairly performing at the box office, Kangana has etched her name in the legion of A-listers and has ended up endorsing and featuring in some of the most talked about ventures.
Soon to be released Simran unfolds the life of a young Gujarati girl who is a kleptomaniac, an alcoholic, and a gambler. The trailer shows Kangana giving yet another power packed performance where she is seen living the life a simple girl yearning for simple pleasures of life. Will the society accept Simran with all her flaws, the answer unfolds on September 15.
