Bollywood film Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which has Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in lead roles ended the first week of its release on a high note. It has collected about Rs 73.66 crore till now. On Thursday it collected Rs 5.06 crore, a ‘The Indian Express’ report has said.
The movie is a combination of much-loved on screen jodi as the lead pair, great music and a good script. If trade analist aran Adarsh is to be believed then the movie may cross collection of its earlier version ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ soon . The earlier installment earned about Rs 76.81 crore during its lifetime.
The movie has become 2017’s highest Monday grosser with Rs 12.08 crore as the Box Office collection, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees (Rs 8.25 crore), Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 (Rs 7.26 crore) and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil (Rs 6.04 crore).
Film distributor Akshaye Rathi said that the film has not only been a win-win situation for actors, filmmakers but also for the trade. Another reason for the movue to be hit is that the film is based on a couple who belong to the small town . The actors also have a regional dialect, making them further connected to the audience.
As the movie is entering its second week after release, it won’t not be wrong to say that Badrinath Ki Dulhania is likely to become one of the movies to earn Rs 100 crore at the box office.
