S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion hit theaters on April 28 worldwide and many records have been broken before and after its release. The director works for the Telugu cinema, so the movie was originally made in Tamil/Telugu and the Hindi rights of the film were bought by Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director Karan Johar. The character of Baahubali gained audience’s appreciation ever since the release of part one and there is no looking back now after the second part has been released. But did anyone pay attention to the voice behind Baahubali 2, the Hindi voice behind the lead character? Well, let us reveal that the voice-over has been provided by famous television actor Sharad Kelkar – he dubbed for Prabhas’s character Baahubali in the film.
The 40-year-old actor is known for his performance in TV serials but he has also worked for big banner films. Sharad Kelkar played the role of Deepika Padukone (Leela)’s older brother in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela back in 2013. He has also worked alongside Hrithik Roshan in Mohenjo Daro where he played the character of Sujan.
Getting a chance to voice for the lead character in such a huge film may well have been a big opportunity for Kelkar, but many might not know that he started his career as gym instructor. Then in the year 2004, he made his television debut with Aakrosh that was aired on Doordarshan. He is married to TV actor Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was released across 9000 screens worldwide on April 28, 2017. It earned Rs 500 cr (pre-release). The tickets of the film were sold at a record high price of Rs 4000 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Reports have said that in Delhi, some reports have said that ticket prices have jumped as high as Rs 2400. Over 1 million tickets were been booked in the first 24 hrs. The film has been made at a budget that is as high as Rs 250 cr as compared to the budget of the first part. And the prediction is that Baahubali 2 will be a Rs 1,000 cr film.
