SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion continues to break all box-office records even in its second week. According to the latest figures provided by Hindi movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie has now become the fastest Hindi film to earn Rs 300 cr. Baahubali achieved the feat on the 10th day as it earned over Rs 25 crore on Saturday, revealed Adarsh. “#Baahubali2 packs a SOLID ₹ 25 cr + on Sat… Creates a new record: FASTEST to reach ₹ 300 cr Club [Day 10]… Nett biz. HINDI. India biz,” he posted on Twitter.

Responding to the achievement, writer and father of SS Rajamouli, K V Vijayendra Prasad told PTI that the team didn’t expect that Baahubali 2 will create history. However, he added that fun is in making and breaking the box office records. “I think records are meant to be broken. The fun is in making and breaking records. It (record) will be broken. What makes me happier is that a Telugu film has crossed the boundaries as it had no known face, no known director only a good visually appealing story was there,” Prasad told PTI.

With this, Baahubali has now become the fifth Hindi film to enter the Rs 300 club, revealed Adarsh in another tweet. The other four movies to do so are:

1. PK (2014)
2. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)
3. Sultan (2016)
4. Dangal (2016)

“People are ready to see a film irrespective of who has made it and who is in it. This kind of response encourages several people to tell stories as there are people to support them. The film has set the bar in every which way and I am very happy about that,” said Prasad who helmed both the parts of the magnum opus. “We had a gut feeling that the second part will be a bigger hit than the first part. But it will be this big is something that we hadn’t thought,” he added.
