Dedicating 5 years of his life to S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali has paid off well for superstar Prabhas. The popularity of the actor has reached such heights that Madame Tussauds has made a wax statue of him. And that is a signal honour! Why? Well, this is a special occasion for Prabhas not only because he is getting his own wax statue but also because he is the first among all South Indian stars to get waxed. Veteran actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Mohanlal among others have still not got the opportunity to get themselves a waxed clone. Other statues that feature in Madame Tussauds, Bangkok include that of Jackie Chan, Vin Diesel, Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt – eminent company indeed.
Baahubali director SS Rajamouli announced the news of Prabhas’s wax statue: “Very happy to announce that Madame Tussauds is making a wax statue of our PRABHAS… First South Indian to be honoured thus. The statue will be unveiled at Bangkok and subsequently will be toured all over the world,” according to an Indian Express report.
The photos of the wax statue that were posted by trade analyst Ramesh Bala on Twitter, have now gone viral. On the post, he wrote, “Wax statue of #Prabhas as #Baahubali at #MadameTussauds Bangkok.1st South Indian Actor to have his statue at the museum.”People were already going gaga over the sequel of Baahubali: The Beginning, the news about his wax statue being inaugurated in Madame Tussauds is taking the frenzy to another level. People were talking about the movie, now they have another topic to talk about.
SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus has reportedly crossed the Rs 700 crore mark, as far as its worldwide box office collection is concerned. It also became a part of those few films that were showcased in Russia on popular demand, according to Ramesh Bala’s Twitter post.
