Priyanka Chopra, Bollywood’s export to the world of US television has been chosen as a subject of a research paper by an Indian student in Australia. Akansha Panday, who is currently doing her Bachelors in the University of Queensland in Australia, chose Priyanka to be the subject of her paper. The paper is an assignment based on the celebrity culture and their public image.
In an interview with TOI, Akansha gave reasons as to why she zeroed in on specifically Priyanka as the subject of her paper. In her interview, she talks about the uniqueness of Priyanka Chopra and the idea of an actress from Bollywood starting from the scratch in Hollywood seeking great acceptance. She further said that in her assignment, she talked about the term “affiliation” that is related to if the audience the actor or actress caters to, thinks if his/her behaviour is worthy of being a role model.

She talks about Priyanka’s interviews where the Bollywood actress discusses her school days as a tomboy and dealing with a low self-esteem to growing up to being a symbol for the common women in India and over the world.
