Airlift box office collections graph is rising fast and this has led the Akshay Kumar starrer to log its best figures in its day 3 collection at Rs 17.35 crore. This has taken the India-based net total to Rs 44.30 crore (gross approx. is at Rs 63.29 crore) – this is also the Airlift opening weekend collection. With the foreign take added the overall tally rises to Rs 67.15 crore. The significance here is that Airlift has received a good word of mouth booster shot leading to increasing numbers of people willing to come to theatres to watch Akshay Kumar in action and this bodes well for the movie’s future too.
Airlift box office collections on the second day were Rs 14.60 crore and the net tally in India jumped to Rs 26.95 crore. The holiday on Saturday had much to do with the rising graph, of course. The gross (approximation) for the second day collection is Rs 38.50 for this time period. And with the foreign take added, the figure rises to Rs 42.36 cr.
Airlift box office collections had got off to a fine start with first day collection net figure in India being Rs 12.35 cr and Rs 17.64 crore (gross). In fact, on its release, the film wowed the critics and the audiences alike, and that has been reflected in the good beginnings at the B.O. When we add the foreign take of Rs 3.86 cr to the Airlift first day collection, the tally had risen to Rs 21 crore (gross).
Raja Krishna Menon’s film Airlift is based on one of the largest human evacuation in recent history released Friday. Considering it released on a working day, theatres are seeing more than adequate number of people filling seats.
Akshay Kumar’s golden touch has brought him immense success last year and the same is expected in 2016 too. That really sets up Airlift box office collections for immense success, especially as the first few movies of the year have disappointed – there is already talk of Rs 100 crore earnings figure doing the rounds.
Akshay Kumar’s Airlift is a thriller and the movie also features Nimrat Kaur. The film is based on a real life incident and is expected to fare well at the B.O. as the weekend kicks in.
Akshay Kumar’s action movie has the sex comedy, or rather India’s first ever ‘porn-com’, Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 to compete with – both of them released on the same day. Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 features an ensemble cast featuring Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasini and Mandana Karimi.
On the whole with good reviews and positive word of mouth, Airlift is expected to dominate the weekend. Also, if that is not enough, the patriotic wave sweeping the nation with Republic Day around the corner will certainly be expected to give Airlift box office collections a big boost.
