People of Karnataka can now watch Baahubali 2: The Conclusion at just Rs 200+taxes as the state government has announced a cap of Rs 200 on movie tickets for all Kannada movies, IANS reported. As per the order issued by Kannada Culture and Information Department Joint Secretary S.N. Jaysri, “A movie ticket for all films in theatres and multiplexes across the state will be priced at Rs 200 maximum”.
Now. tickets for Kannada films are likely to be at Rs 203, out of which Rs 3 will be service tax. As per the agency report, the tickets for non-Kannada movies will be priced maximum at Rs 264, which will include Rs 4 service tax and Rs 60 entertainment tax.
Speaking to presspersons, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) president Sa Ra Govindu said that ticket prices of Kannada films across the state from Wednesday will be Rs 203 only as they have been exempted from entertainment tax. However, the order has excluded Gold Class screen and Gold Class seats in multiplexes from Rs 200 cap for non-Kannada movies. Multiplexes in Karnataka, charge Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 per ticket for Gold Class screen and Gold Class seats for non-Kannada films at Rs 350-500 per ticket for Kannada movies.
Meanwhile, Baahubali actor Prabhas has become the first South Indian actor to get his wax statue at Bangkok’s Madame Tussauds’ in his Baahubali look. Since the news was broken by trade analyst Ramesh Bala, stills of the actor have gone viral, leaving fans in a frenzy, an Indian Express report said.
