In an interaction over the controversy surrounding the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on its scheduled date due to the presence of Pakistani actors, which has been objected to by the Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), leading film actors like Aamir Khan, Abhay Deol, Imran Khan, Kalki Koechlin, Zoya Akhtar and others have voiced their personal opinions over the controversy. According to the MNS, the film should be banned and if it is released then it may lead to consequences even generate protests across the country. The anti-Pakistan mood has gripped the nation ever since terrorists attacked Indian forces in Uri and thereafter leading to calls for ban on everything that has to do with the neighbouring country as it has been sponsoring this violence. In the wake of the surgical strikes by the Indian Army over the line of control (LoC) in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), the calls have gained even more momentum. This has affected Bollywood and filmmakers and actors are saying that the move to ban films will hurt Indian interest more.
