With controversy continuing to dog Aamir Khan’s movie ‘PK’, with a few religious groups demanding a ban on it for hurting religious sentiments, box office collections are continuing to rise inexorably.
Distributor and exhibitor Akshaye Rathi whose theatre in Bhilai was vandalised on Sunday, said: “Because of that there were disturbances at some places. The staff was beaten by a mob of around 700 people. The scenario continued on Monday as well in and around Ahmedabad, Bhopal, etc. However, precautions have been taken and even the court has ruled out the demand,” says Rathi, referring to the right wing outfits demand for a government ban on Amir Khan’s ‘PK’ movie.
Akshaye Rathi is in fact, looking at an optimistic week ahead for the film, which is doing marvellously well so far and is within striking distance of the ultimate target, the Rs 500+ cr box office collections of Aamir Khan’s own ‘Dhoom 3’.
The overall response to ‘PK’, has been good, says Muralidharan, manager, Eros Cinema that is screening as many as four shows of ‘PK’ and has avoided any other film.
