Congress party leader Sandeep Dikshit on Saturday after the defeat of Congress-Samajwad party in Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017 lashed out at Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and said that everyone including Rahul Gandhi should share the defeat. He also blamed the senior party members and said that senior in the party sabotaged Congress. Dikshit added that after polls debacle, there was dissent within the party. Sandeep Dikshit – whose mother and former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was originally to be the Congress Chief Ministerial candidate – also added that his mother was treated very badly by the party.
Though after todays’s defeat many congress leaders spoke on the loss. Congress spokesman Sanjay Jha said, “It is a monumental setback. We are disappointed with Uttar Pradesh.” Adding to which Sandeep Dikshit said, “Our party is looking confused.” He while speaking to a news channel said that the party needs to seriously decide that whether they are going to do the ideological or strategic change. As congress’ messages were very unclear unlike PM Modi’s party.

Today, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala also accepted the loss and said that the people did not accept the Congress-Samajwadi party alliance who came together for the purpose of development and for them the losing also teaches a new lesson.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to form government in the hill state. The party has swept back to power in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, giving Prime Minister Narendra Modi his biggest victory after the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. After implementing a master strategy during the Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and even Manipur assembly elections, with the BJP inked a mammoth win in UP and Uttarakhand.
