Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hailed the success of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) while addressing a rally in Kannauj, which is the Parliamentary constituency of Samajwadi Party leader and wife of
UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. While hailing ISRO which sent 104 satellites in the space today, PM Modi said, “Scientists have scored a century in the sky today.”
Polling for 67 assembly constituencies in western Uttar Pradesh is underway today. PM Modi accused Akhilesh government of being anti-poor. “UP government is sleeping. It is not using funds for feeding poor in orphanages as it is not finding middlemen,” he said.
PM Modi also took a dig at Dimple Yadav. “The Kannauj MP had promised to set up a factory for potato chip in the last election. Did you get the factory? Won’t you question such leader?”
BJP has said in its manifesto that potato would be purchased at minimum support price set by the government.
Taking a dig a Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said, “There is one leader in Congress who doesn’t even know whether potatoes are produced in a factory or on farmland. In a speech, he had talked of setting up of a potato factory. You understand it, but he doesn’t.”
“Such types of people are now talking of farmer’s welfare,” he added.
PM Modi also accused the BSP, Congress and Samajwadi Party of being hand-in-gloves for the polls. They (the three parties) are running a three-legged race. While SP’s leg is fixed with Congress, the latter’s leg is attached to BSP.”
PM Modi attacked Akhilesh for joining hands with Congress. “On March 4, 1984, Mulayam Singh was attacked by Congress party. Then leaders like Chaudhari Charan Singh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee organised a movement to protect Mulayam Singh from the Congress. But now Akhilesh has joined hands with Congress.”
“Have you heard of such a son who would unite with a party that tried to kill his father.”
