Yogi Adityanath, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) five-time parliamentarian, has been elected as the next leader of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. While, senior BJP leaders Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya have been elected as the deputy chief ministers of the state. Known for his firebrand Hindutva/saffron image Adityanath was named the UP CM designate at a meeting of newly-elected MLAs of the BJP today in the evening. As soon as the news about Adityanath being named as CM of Uttar Pradesh broke, the reactions of people flooded on social media. The 44-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Adityanath comes from the Rajput community and is the head of the Gorakhnath Mutt in Gorakhpur, which has millions of followers from eastern UP and neighbouring Nepal.
