Known for making controversial comments, Bharatiya Janata Party Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath has said that Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party are in race to issue tickets to Muslim candidates, ETV Uttar Pradesh reported. Ädityanath added that BJP, if voted to power, will shut down all slaughterhouses in states. “There is a race between SP and BSP on issuing tickets to Muslim candidates,” Adityanath said.
Adityanath, who is among the 40 star campaigners of Bharatiya Janata Party, is known for making comments on communal lines in his public speeches. Recently, Adityanath had said ,“the issue of ‘love jihad’ is still prevalent in the state and some people are trying to create a Kashmir-like situation in UP.” This is not for the first time that Adityanath has said something like this, even in the past he has been quite vocal on the love jihad issue and have mentioned that situation in UP is getting similar to that of Kashmir.

Earlier, Adityanath had said, exodus of Hindus from Kairana and ‘love jihad’ are important issues for BJP. Adityanath had said that he “will not let Western Uttar Pradesh turn into another Kashmir”, a reference to the forced migration of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s.
During an event organised by a news channel, Adityanath said that “Issues like Hindu exodus from Kairana, love jihad and women’s safety will dominate the poll scene.”
“Yogi is not talking about today, Yogi is talking about future. Exodus is a very big issue for us,” he said, adding that BJP will not let western UP turn into another Kashmir.
Another BJP MP Hukum Singh, in June last year, had claimed that more than 350 Hindus had left Kairana over the alleged threats and extortion by criminal elements belonging to a particular community. The Lok Sabha member from Gorakhpur claimed that in eastern part of UP, both Hindu and Muslim population was safe. “In eastern UP, if a Hindu is safe, so is a Muslim,” he said.
