Saturday marked a glorious day for Bharatiya Janata Party as under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party President, it managed to win historic 325 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Since then many leaders have come out and congratulated both the senior leaders. Even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the face of this campaign, it was Amit Shah’s brain working behind the stage that made this historic mandate possible.

However, if the sources are to be believed, Amit Shah’s dominance may not end here. He is set to make his ‘Congress Mukta Bharat’ dream come true and now targets another 120 Lok Sabha seats where BJP is hardly present. The party is set to begin from scratch in South and East India by building booth-level infrastructure. Of course, the driving force to achieve this target is going to be Narendra Modi’s growing popularity and status as a leader of masses.

Watch Amit Shah talking to media after the win:

“Shah wants these 120 seats under the Modi umbrella,” a BJP source told the Indian Express. According to him, these constituencies are spread across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal and states in the North-East.

As the BJP Chief said on Saturday after winning Uttar Pradesh he said, “The only factor for the win is the performance of the Modi government. The outcome has shown the faith of the poor in Modi… Even his political rivals will have to admit that he has emerged as the most popular leader in the country since Independence.” So, while the BJP workers and activists are busy celebrating the win, the big leaders have already started putting together a strategy for 2019 Lok Sabha election. As far as Congress is concerned, they have another problem to handle even before they could have got over the loss at Uttar Pradesh.
