The Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) selection examination that is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to select junior staff in the departments of the central government was leaked on Sunday, April 30, 2017. The commission has ordered re-examination for selected candidates who appeared for the afternoon shift of the test. A release issued by the Personnel Ministry on the same day said that the paper was ‘compromised’. The release read, “The Staff Selection Commission has taken a decision to cancel the (Paper-I) (Afternoon Shift) of the MTS (Non-Technical) Examination 2016 held on 30th April 2017, because the said paper was found to be compromised. The re-examination for only those candidates who appeared in this shift will be held in due course and the candidates would be suitably informed accordingly. The inconvenience caused to the candidates is regretted.”
This year due to a large number of registrations for the MTS (Non-Technical) Examination, 2016, SSC conducted the test daily in two shifts- morning and afternoon. The other dates when the examination is scheduled to be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission are May 14, May 28, June 4 and June 11.
The incident surface when, Neetu Singh, the director of KD Campus, SSC coaching in Delhi posted the question paper along with the answers on her Facebook page. She later sought help from SSC and the PMO in the same matter. A Facebook post by her read, “MTS 2ND SHIFT PAPER LEAKED. UPDATED ON MY FB BEFORE THE SHIFT STARTED. HOPEFULLY, SSC AND PMO WILL TAKE CONCRETE ACTION AGAINST THE WRONGDOERS. THE EFFORTS OF THE COMMISSION RUINED BY SOME SELFISH SENIOR OFFICERS WHO HAVE BECOME HABITUAL OF MINTING EASY MONEY. SSC CHIEF MUST OVERHAUL HIS CORE TEAM. ABOUT 1ST SHIFT I HAVE NO PROOF. Ab fir CPO SI paper leak case ki tarah crime branch wale mera phone utha le jayenge investigation ke naam par. ??”
