HBSE 10th result 2017: Extending hours of anxiety for the students who appeared in Class 10 board examinations this year, the Board of School Education Haryana has withdrawn its results barely hours after announcing it on Monday. The Haryana education board had declared the results for secondary examination today, but soon it had to be rolled back over an incorrect merit list, reported Hindustan Times. In a statement, the education board stated that “Due to some technical error, the Board of School Education Haryana is rectifying the result of Secondary Examination, March-2017.”

In the first merit list issued by the board, Monika Rani of Fatehabad secured the top position after getting 493 marks out of 500. She was followed by Rupesh of Bhiwani, who got a total of 491 marks. On the third position, there were four candidates were named, all of whom scored 490 marks each, the list stated. But soon the board announced that it would rectify this merit list, said HT.

Asked about the technical snag, board’s chairperson Jagbir Singh told HT that the computer changed the three-digit 100 score into two digits, which resulted in giving D grade to top scorers due to the problem. He said that the merit list stands cancelled. The rectified list, however, released later on the day, which clarified that Rani had secured a creditable fifth position while Yudhvir was the topper.  A student of a school in the Sirsa district, Yudhvir secured 499 marks out of 500. The second position was bagged by Sumit from Jind with a score of 496 marks, reporting PTI quoting a Board official said.

The education board has taken the issue seriously and took strict action against those who were responsible for the release of erroneous result. As many as two employees of the board have been suspended for negligence, Singh said.

I wish them good luck for their bright future.” He further sent a message to those who could not perform well in his tweet that said, “Students who haven’t scored up to the expectations, please don’t be disheartened. You will definitely do better next time!”
