JEE (Advance), formerly known as Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) is conducted every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to the IITs. Candidates who successfully clear JEE Mains are eligible to sit for JEE Advance. Admission to undergraduate programmes like Bachelors of Engineering (BE), Bachelors of Technology (B. Tech), Bachelor‐Master Dual Degree in Engineering, B.Sc, Bachelors of Architecture (B. Arch) and Pharmaceutical in top IITs is possible only through JEE Advance. CBSE announced the scores and All India Ranks (AIRs) for JEE Mains on April 27, candidates who successfully cleared the Mains examination can register themselves for Advance on April 28.

According to the official website of JEE Advance 2017, the exam is scheduled to take place on Sunday; May 21, 2017. Registrations for the same will begin tomorrow at 10 AM.

Here is how to register for JEE (Advance) 2017 and eligibility criteria:

1. Performance in JEE (Mains) 2017

2. Age Criteria- Candidates who wish to appear for the examination should have been born on or after October 1, 1992 (October 1, 1987 for SC, ST and PwD candidates)

3. Number of Attempts- The Maximum number of attempts for the examination in consecutive years is 2.

4. 10+2 examination- Candidates should have appeared for their 10+2 examination after June 2015 to be eligible for the examination

5. Earlier Admission- Candidates should not have studied in any IIT previously

Candidates who fulfil the above mentioned eligibility criteria can then register themselves for the JEE (Advance) examination.

Steps to register for JEE (Advance) 2017:

Step 1- Visit the official website at jeeadv.ac.in

Step 2- Once on the home page, click on the link that says, ‘JEE- Advance 2017 Registrations’

Step 3- Now follow the mentioned process and register for the examination

Step 4- Enter all personal and educational qualificational details including JEE (Mains) score and rank

JEE Advance Important Dates:

Registration for JEE (Advanced) 2017- Friday; April 28, 2017 (10 AM) to Tuesday; May 5, 2017 (5 PM)

Admit Card- Wednesday; May 10, 2017 to Sunday; May 21, 2017 (9 AM)

JEE (Advance) 2017 Exam Date- Sunday; May 21, 2017
Paper 1: 9 AM to 12 PM
Paper 2: 2 PM to 5 PM

Online display of answer keys- Sunday; June 4, 2017

Declaration of JEE (Advanced) results- Sunday; June 6, 2017

Seat Allotment (Tentative)- Monday; June 19, 2017 to Tuesday; July 18, 2017
