India’s services exports rose by 4.4 per cent to US $13.32 billion in June this year, Reserve Bank data showed today.
Services exports in June 2015 was at US $12.77 billion. The exports stood at US $13.46 billion in May 2016.
Services imports during the reported month increased by 11.5 per cent at US $8.40 billion compared to US $7.52 billion in the year-ago period.
Services imports in May 2016 were at US $7.92 billion.
The figures are based on RBI data on International Trade in Services for May 2016.
The services sector contributes about 55 per cent to the country’s gross domestic product.
The RBI data is provisional and undergoes revision when the Balance of Payments (BoP) data is released on a quarterly basis.
