The January-March 2017 data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) shows Reliance Jio as having the fastest 4G download speed, followed by Idea Cellular and Bharti Airtel. Jio posted 4G download speeds of 17.43 Mbps, 16.49 and 18.49 for January, February and March 2017, respectively, giving it an average speed of 17.47 Mbps for the first quarter of the current calendar year. Bharti, which reported speeds of 11.25 Mbps, 10.44 and 9.14 for the same period, clocked an average 4G download speed of 10.27 Mbps.
Idea surprisingly took the second spot with an average speed of 11.06 Mbps for the same period. It reported 4G download speeds of 12.22 Mbps, 12.09 and 8.89 for January, February and March, respectively. An analysis of Trai’s March 2017 speed test figures indicates a continuing trend. Jio was the fastest telecom operator for the third consecutive month.

Bharti at 9.14 Mbps was the second-fastest operator during March, while the country’s second largest telecom operator, Vodafone India, closely followed with a download speed of 9 Mbps during the same month. Idea, after clocking the second fastest 4G download speed for two months in a row, dropped to fourth with a speed of 8.89 Mbps.
