The quarterly House Price Index (HPI) released by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday said the all-India HPI increased to 221.7 in the third quarter 2015-16 from 218.2 in the second quarter of the financial year 2015-16.
According to RBI, the annual year-on-year increase of all-India HPI moderated since the three months of April-June last year.
During October-December, the rate of increase fell below 10%. The previous low was seen in the third quarter of financial year 2013-14 when the rate of increase was 10.1%.
On an annual basis, Lucknow witnessed the highest increase of 16.1%, while HPI declined in Jaipur and the change was 5.2% y-o-y. Sequentially, HPI of Kochi increased by 8% while HPI for Bengaluru declined by 1%, RBI said in a statement.
