Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a meeting of all NDA MPs on Monday ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament.
The session, which will commence from July 21, is expected to be a stormy one, with opposition parties closing ranks on several issues, including the Vyapam scam, the Lalit Modi controversy and the latest Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC).
According to reports, the Congress party has said that the only way for the BJP-led government at the Centre to save the upcoming session was to seek resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, however, retorted that the Congress would find itself ‘isolated’ if they make an attempt to stall the session.
The monsoon session of the Parliament is important for the government with several bills, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), lined up for clearance by the house.
