PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi on Tuesday spoke very positively about the current status of Asian economy even as she warned about protectionism. Nooyi said that Asian economy along with that of Russia is “doing well”, a report said. Speaking on the ‘inclusive growth’, Nooyi said,”it should include the World.” During an interaction with a channel, she opined that it will be “critical for global companies that countries remain open”. She also warned about ‘protectionism’. She said, “the US must grow with an eye towards the world”. She feels that there are “several eco hotspots across the world”.

Earlier, Nooyi, who was born in Chennai, said that PepsiCo is looking to increase nutrition in its menu as the lifestyles around the world changes. Earlier in April, she had stated that the company’s most known product, the Pepsi soft drink only accounted for 12% of the entire revenue of the Company as the United States based firm is focussing on the category of health and nutrition.
