The Home Ministry on Wednesday said there is currently no proposal under its consideration regarding the implementation of ‘One Rank One Pension’ for paramilitary forces.

“There have been some requests demanding One Rank One Pension on the line of demand in Defence Forces. There is no proposal under consideration of the Ministry on the issue,” said a release by the ministry.

“Proposals regarding granting of Para Military Service pay and enhancement of casual leave at par with Army have been received in this Ministry. The same have been referred to the 7th Central Pay Commission for consideration,” it added.

The OROP scheme has been a long-standing demand of ex-servicemen’s associations and relates to payment of uniform pension to defence forces personnel retiring in the same rank with the same length of service, irrespective of their date of retirement.

In some of the panel discussions I was amazed to hear a weird discussion that the person joining defense service new the ry and terminal conditions of service. Are those Babus and also the Judges becoming the head of the pay commissions giving such argument can say the same thing about their service. Shamelessly they have gone step by step since Independence from increasing their pay which was less that that of defense and than arrogated to themselves 50% pension, while decreasing the same from 70% for defence in 1973. Thereafter NFU and many other such benefit have been showered by themselves to self community and so much so that they have made themselves as "Group A Organised Services" and all others as SC/ST services.
