Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Thursday rejected opposition charge that the Land Bill was anti-farmer and asked parties not to oppose it for political reasons.

He expressed confidence the Land Bill and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill would pass muster in the current budget session of Parliament.

“Let the session be over. I don’t think they will not be passed,” Shah said when asked about the fate of key reforms measures like land bill and GST bill.

With a united opposition dubbing the land bill “anti-farmer”, Shah the legislation did not have any anti-farmer clause following amendments brought by the government and suggested that the opposition to it was due to political considerations.

“I think that if a bill is good on merit then it should not be opposed due to political reasons,” he said when asked if his party was disappointed over the opposition’s stand.

He, however, parried queries at a press conference on Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s repeated attack on Modi and the government over farmer issues and said let Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal answer him.

“Let Harsimrat answer Rahul Gandhi. Do not bring me into this,” he said.

She had attacked Gandhi yesterday in Lok Sabha after he highlighted problems being faced by farmers in Punjab and advised him instead to tour his constituency Amethi.

It seems you are not aware who this hi is. Just a little information: 1. He never cleared M.Phil in Cambridge University because he failed in one subject but still claimed he did get the degree. 2. In 2001, he was caught in Boston airport with $1.6K and drugs. He was released by FBI after the Indian government's intervention. He can never enter US. 3. He was dropped from Harvard on drug charges. 4. He cannot stand for a long time without drugs. 5. He and his friends are alleged to have raped one of his own party leader's daughter. Now, no one knows where the family is. The case was suppressed because they were the ruling party. 6. He and his mom have an estimated $20 billion blackmoney stashed away in foreign banks. 6. He and his mom swindled land ets worthy of $300 million. 7. His brother-in-law owns Vdara Resort and Spa, Aria and couple of more resorts in Las Vegas. He also swindled more than 10,000 hectares of land in different parts of India. These are known issues. There maybe so many in closet which will eventually come out soon. If you still think he is graceful and polite and a gentleman, then I take back what I said

Land bill will be solution to unemployment problem of India. Comparatively huge number of people are depending on small fragmented land and are underemplo as other alternative is there. All political parties should support ping of the bill and not do politics in the name of farmers.

My opinion is very simple and clear. Land Bill as made out by the ruling Government should not be ped. It will be the dooms day for Farmers at large. BJP is once again trying to fool public.

Let us see what he effectively achieves, forcing the government to do, if at all anything, concrete and measurable, instead of bla-bla-ing in the air that the Government is anti-farmer. Let us give him some space of 45 days
