DIPP secretary to address ‘Make in India’ event in Delhi

The Confederation of Indian Industry and the India Design Council in partnership with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), will be organising a session on Make in India: Making it Happen by Design.

The Confederation of Indian Industry and the India Design Council in partnership with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), will be organising a session on Make in India: Making it Happen by Design.

The event, which will be held on June 29, will be addressed by Amitabh Kant, Secretary, DIPP.

The recent initiative taken by CII and Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) Limited in bringing designers in the planning process, will also be discussed during this session.

The session will also see the following announcements, launches and releases:

Announcement of India Design Mark 2016 & Release of India Design Mark Catalogue 2012-14

The India Design Mark was initiated in the year 2012 in cooperation with Good Design Awards (G Mark), Japan. Since then, through 4 cycles, 182 products have been granted the prestigious India Design Mark. This session will see the announcement of the next cycle of India Design Mark 2016 and the release of a catalogue featuring 124 products which have been granted the India Design Mark during 2012-14.

Launch of Design Education Quality Mark

The India Design Council determined to benchmark design education programs on pre-determined standards and to accord Design Education Quality Mark to institutions that meet the provisions of the published standard. The Design Education Quality Mark has been initiated with the main idea of creating comparable, compatible, coherent and recognizable system of Design Education within the framework of Quality Code. The session will see the launch of Design Education Quality Mark.

Release of CII India Design Year Book 2014

The CII India Design Year Book 2014 is a medium to communicate the best of the design emanating from India in diverse design disciplines over the year of 2014. The CII Design Year Book captures over 100 recent projects in which the companies / design firms have employed agile design thinking, methodology and processes to achieve success for clients, partners and end users. Combining an experienced editorial team, innovative graphic design the yearbook, is a compilation of exceptional designs happening in India. The session will see the release of CII India Design Year Book 2014.
