Following the demonetisation move announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8, Asianet News Channel revealed shocking details about a black money racket in Kasargode where 30% commission on turning black money into white is currently functioning in full swing.

The shocking video, released by Asianet News channel during the news hour yesterday, showed a conversation where one of their journalists approaches a key person in the racket, who states that he has enough cash in new rupee two thousand notes and can change cash for up to crores of rupees!

In the same video, one can hear the man asking, “Do you have 10 lakhs to give right now in cash?”

After the video was released, the question was much debated across news panel discussions.

What most panelists had to ask was this question: “Where and how do these people get so much Rs 2000 notes when the common man is struggling to withdraw money from ATMs? Also, if this is happening across the state, what is the result of having this demonetisation move – as its very purpose is being defeated even as it is underway.”

K Surendran, BJP state general secretary, Kerala told Asianet News, “Shocking that such things are happening in the state. This proves how important it is for the nation to support the demonetisation move to bring black money racketeers to light.”
