THEME – BANKING 2010

fe BEST BANKS survey this year has chosen to look into the future. The key theme for the special issue is to identify, analyze and examine key challenges that banks will be facing at a time of intense economic growth, competition and consequent fluidity. The RBI is expected to review existing laws governing holdings by foreign banks in Indian banks by 2009. The banking sector in India is expected to undergo an important transformation that year and after, with size, balance sheet strength, processes and technology becoming the drivers of growth for banks. Hence, the choice of the theme, Banking: 2010, to capture the scenario a year after the important change sets in. Will it be that dramatic a change?  No one knows. At least, not just yet!

The survey aggregates opinions from key industry constituents in order to present to the reader a coherent and incisive account of how the industry is likely to evolve over the next three years.
