Mahindra KUV100, the first ever mini compact SUV from M&M, will become the company's most affordable offering upon its launch in January 2016. Though the company already enjoys the largest market share in the sports utility vehicle (SUV) segment in the country, it aims to attract young buyers with the help of Mahindra KUV100. 2. Mahindra KUV100 specifications - With the introduction of Mahindra KUV100, the company's all new engine family - mFALCON - will also make its debut. Though the company will have multiple capacity engines under mFALCON, the KUV100 will get a 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines both of which are 3-cylinder. While the petrol engine, 1.2-litre mFALCON G80, produces 82bhp and 114Nm, the 1.2-litre mFALCON D75 diesel develops 77bhp and 190Nm. Based on an all-new platform, the new mini compact SUV from M&M might be launched with two transmission options - a 5-speed manual and an automated manual transmission.
Mahindra KUV100 vs Hyundai Grand i10 vs Maruti Swift - Engine Specifications Mahindra's mini SUV features a 1.2-litre mFALCON G80 petrol that is claimed to produce 82bhp and 115Nm. The diesel version, powered by a 1.2-litre mFALCON D75, churns out 77bhp and 190Nm. The Swift's 1.2-litre VVT petrol-engined model churns out 83.11bhp and 115Nm, while the 1.3-litre DDiS engine-powered version is good for 74bhp and 190Nm. The Hyundai Grand i10's 1.2-litre Kappa petrol-engined model develops 82bhp and 114Nm, the 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine belts out 70bhp and 160Nm. On paper, the Swift's petrol model is slightly more powerful than the gasoline-engined versions of the other two. Whereas, the KUV100's diesel model has an upper hand over the diesel models of both of its rivals. The Hyundai Grand i10's diesel engine is the least powerful of the three here.
4. Mahindra KUV100 price - Though the company hasn't revealed the KUV100's price, it hinted at an aggressive pricing as it doesn't want to"disappoint" its potential buyers. We expect Mahindra's mini SUV to be priced between Rs 4.0 lakh - Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom)
Mahindra KUV100 price: Mahindra KUV100 priced at Rs 4.42 lakh was launched on Friday and today the automaker Mahindra and Mahindra and ecommerce giant Flipkart have announced an exclusive tie-up for online bookings too. The bookings for the compact SUV will open from midnight January 18, the two companies said.
