The 2016 Renault Duster facelift finally made its India debut today at the Auto Expo 2016. Scheduled to be launched this year, this will be the first proper facelift of the compact SUV ever since its launch in 2011. Besides the Duster facelift, the company also showcased two new versions of the Renault Kwid - 1000cc and AMT.
The Renault Duster facelift looks quite similar to the Brazilian model with features such as a new single piece grille, new head-lamp cluster, new alloy wheels, revised bumper and new tail-lamps. Besides cosmetic updates, the Renault Duster has also received automated manual transmission (AMT) which will be launched on a few trims. The AMT-equipped version of the compact SUV is called Renault Duster Easy-R AMT. The company has also introduced a new colour - Cayenne Orange to the Duster lineup.
Since AMT is a more affordable technology than regular automatic gearboxes, we expect the Duster automatic to be priced very competitive against the Hyundai Creta AT - only other automatic vehicle in its segment. The 1.5-litre diesel and 1.6-litre diesel engines will continue to power the updated Renault Duster. Though the company says that it has used new CMO-10 engine compartment that further improves its drivability.
