With all the aforementioned changes, the new Toyota Innova 2016 looks edgier and sportier than the current MPV model.
It was only November first week when Toyota Indonesia had released the front profile picture of the new Innova 2016, and now a couple of more images of the MPV have been shared. This time around the vehicle's side & rear profile and the interior images have come out, thus revealing all the changes it will get.
The front fascia of the new Toyota Innova 2016 gets all-new grille with dual-chrome slats, sweptback projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, new fog lamps and some other new elements. The Toyota Innova's side profile gets narrower glass area and more prominent wheel arches. The vehicle's rear profile also looks refreshed with all-new bumper, newly-designed tail-lamps, license plate with chrome highlights, etc. With all the aforementioned changes, the new Innova looks edgier and sportier than the current model.
The new Toyota Innova is based on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform that makes it lighter and stiffer than that of the existing Innova. The same platform will also underpin the new-generation Toyota Fortuner.
In the Indonesian market, the Toyota Innova 2016 will be offered in three trim levels - G, V and Q, and in two engine options - a 2.0-litre petrol and a new 2.4-litre GD diesel. Though the Indian market might only get the diesel unit that produces 147bhp and 360Nm. The similar powertrain will also do duty on the upcoming new-gen Toyota Fortuner. Gearbox options on offer could be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
While the new Toyota Innova is expected to make its India debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the launch may happen either by the end of 2016 or early 2017.
