General Motors India today announced pre-launch bookings for its up coming premium Sports Utility Vehicle Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Apart from the traditional channel of bookings through the dealerships, the company has partnered with Amazon India for taking the bookings online for a payment of a “nominal amount,” which will be completely refunded if the customer later decides not to buy the new product.
Tha bookigs on Amazon will open on October 21, the company said in a statement. Companies go for taking advance bookings online to gauge the demand in different geographies to plan the inventories accordingly.
Commenting on the association, GM India President and Managing Director Arvind Saxena said, “This is a first of its kind promotion for premium vehicles in the booming Indian e-commerce space and will enable us to create an entirely new and unique experience for Chevrolet Trailblazer customers.”
The evidence for e-commerce is compelling -- around 65 million consumers in India will buy online this year against around 40 million in 2014, he added.
