Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd introduced the KUV1OO for the first time premium car buyer in India. It is powered by Mahindra's mFalcon diesel and petrol engines that are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. There is no option of an automatic transmission on any variants. It measures 3,675 mm in length, 1,715 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height with roof rails. ABS (Anti lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) is standard across all variants while the K2+, K4+, K6+, K8 ad K8+ also have dual front airbags. The higher versions also have an anti-theft security system with keyless entry and the top end trim also has ISOFIX attachment for child seats. The 'Young SUV' from Mahindra also has two seating configuration because the gear lever is mounted on the centre console instead of the floor. This accomodates space for a third passenger upfront who also gets its seatbelt.

The Mahindra KUV1OO has dual tone bumpers, rear spoiler, roof rails standard across its variant range. The higher variants also get Daytime Running Lamps or DRLs, chrome inserts on the front grille and body coloured door handles. The top end version also gets alloy wheels.
Inside the Mahindra KUV1OO, the higher variants come with power windows for all doors, remote central locking, electrically adjustable ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), follow me home headlamps, rear wiper with washer and more. All variants of the Mahindra KUV1OO have door ajar warning lamp, bottle holders in each door, cable operated tail gate and fuel lid lever. The higher variants also have a 3.5 inch infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and playback and steering mounted audio controls which is compatible with Mahindra's Bluesense app for added convenience.
Powering the Mahindra KUV1OO are two engine options, a 1.2 litre mFalcon 80 petrol and a 1.2 litre mFalcon diesel units. The petrol engine generates 81 hp of power at 5,500 rpm and 115 Nm of torque from 3,500 rpm to 3,600 rpm. The diesel engine produces 76 hp of power at 3,750 rpm and 190 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm and 2,250 rpm. Both engines have ample power and torque figures which car compareable to its segment
The Mahindra KUV1OO's petrol and diesel engines come with a 5 speed manual transmission. The gear lever is mounted on the centre console instead of the floorboard to accommodate for a third passenger in the first row. That said, the KUV1OO does not have an automatic gearbox on either of the two engine options available.
