Platina is a 100cc motorcycle from Bajaj Auto which is slightly more powerful and stylish than the CT 100. It comes with a different 102cc engine with the company’s renowned DTS-i technology for better performance and fuel economy. Overall, the design is pretty straightforward with small dozes of style here and there like the bikini fairing at the front. Platina is one of the most popular and successful models from Bajaj. Other features include slightly longer travel front suspension and rear spring-in-spring (SNS) shockers.
28% longer travel front telescopic forks.
22% longer rear SNS shockers.
Soft and comfortable seat
Platina Comfortec is a successful commuter motorcycle from Bajaj in the 100cc segment. The design is mostly simple and basic but it is not devoid of some sophistication. At the front, there’s a bikini fairing which houses the headlight assembly and the speedometer. The fuel tank is basic with very subtle curves while the tail section is slightly angular. The fit-n-finish of parts is good and the overall build quality remains decent.
Platina Comfortec puts the rider in an upright riding position with an easy to the handlebar and its switches. The seat is flat, long and a single piece unit for the rider and the pillion. The seat has unique spring soft padding which increases the overall riding comfort. The suspension is basic with the rear spring-in-spring shockers doing their best to eat up the bumps on changing road conditions.
Platina is equipped with a 102cc engine which is capable of producing 8.08 BHP of power at 7,500 RPM and 8.6 NM of torque at 5,000 RPM. The engine is also equipped with the DTS-i (Digital Twin Spark Ignition system) for better performance and fuel efficiency.
Platina Comfortec comes with a 4-speed constant mesh transmission. The gearbox is frugal and smooth enough to guarantee positive shifts along with the light clutch pull.
The stopping duty is handled by drum brakes at both ends. While the system is capable of enough to handle the performance, it would have been good to have an optional front disc brake as well.
The fuel efficiency is on par with its competition and with 11 litres of tank capacity, it provides long riding range in one full tank.
