The build up to the Nexon has been absolutely intense, and there is good reason for it, the Nexon has all the makings of a proper segment buster. Not to build it up before it’s launch but so far from what we know, it’s going to be one hell of a Compact-SUV. In Fact Tata have even implemented a newly defined design language that they are calling “Impact” for the upcoming Nexon. If press-shots can be considered a marker, the design team have managed to do exactly as instructed, the Nexon, like the Tigor, immediately grabs your attention from the moment you set eyes on it. But the Nexon is far from all-show and no-go, it has a lot of features that set it apart from the competition. Here are five segment topping features that the Nexon will get that no other car in it’s segment will have.
Multiple Drives Modes: Now the Nexon will come with multiple driving modes that allow you to change the characteristics of the engine. An Eco mode that maximises fuel efficiency, a City driving mode that changes the map to deliver torque at the bottom end of the powerband to allow the Nexon to zip through traffic with ease. And finally the Sport mode, which cranks everything up to max at the cost of fuel efficiency of course.
The nexon also gets a centrally mounted 6.5 inch HD display with a touchscreen, that is reminiscent of the german manufacturers. Tata also say that this will help reduce “eye-off road time” time to increase safety of usage.
As far as engines go the Nexon will get the 1.2l Forced induction Petrol from the Revotron series as well a a 1.5 litre Diesel engine from the Revotorq series, both engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmissions.
The Nexon will also get a Harman Infotainment system with Android Auto and Car play, with an impressive 8 high-fidelity speakers placed at acoustic vantage points in the car, that should result in an immersive audio experience.
The centre console gets a folding tambour door that reflects a more premium class of vehicle.
