Royal Enfield, a motorcycle manufacturer with a name that has been a part of the lives of thousands of families in India. Your grandfather may have owned one or your dad or maybe you are proud owner of one of the most popular motorcycles India has ever seen. We've done lists and galleries on modified Royal Enfield motorcycles before, but can't seem to get enough as there is so much potential in RE bikes for custom jobs. Custom motorcycle builders from across the country have done their rendition of Royal Enfield Classic 500 or Classic 350 or Bullet 300 and 500, and even the Thunderbird series. We came across one that's inspired by Indian God, and how! See for yourself.
Natraj - the Dragster is a unique custom job of a Royal Enfield done by Maratha Motorcycles of Mumbai, Maharashtra. The biggest change in the motorcycle, besides the upgraded look, is that Maratha replaced its chain drive with a belt drive, offering low cost maintenance.
Shrihant Dalvi from the Maratha team described the technology used in the customisation to 350cc. He said that the 'Abhay mudra' was crafted with a matte black swing arm and soft tail frame which are inhouse custom built.
The modified Royal Enfield's paint job is called Cosmic Fire Smoke Prabha Mandala, which sounds very technical and signifies something as well. Dalvi explained that the paint job "signifies forces of creation & destruction. Also the flow of smoke over the body represents calmness of Goddess Ganga".
According to Maratha Motorcycles, the Art of trident customised upon alloy wheels, the 15-litre coffin shape fuel tank, front fender, cowl side panel structure represent the "Tandav swaroop of Nataraj".
The custom Royal Enfiled Nataraj is fitted with inverted suspension and monoshock, which allow better comfort on longer rides, assisted by drag-style handlebar. It gets a digital speedo, and braking is covered by 320 mm discs up front and 280 mm at the back.
The Nataraj's tank cap is personalised with the owner's details and there are lights fitted in the front and rear that highlight the shape in the dark. For an exhaust, it gets a uniquely finished side mounted triangular canister. For regular updates on social media, please follow our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
