Land Rover's new Range Rover Velar is the latest addition to Range Rover family. Slotting between the full size and the Evoque. This puts the Velar up against the likes of fresh new Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Volvo XC60. All of the latter have more than a few generations of experience in the mid-size luxury SUV segment. The question then remains can this new Rangie match up with the German and Swedish competition.
One of the more defining features on the Range Rover Velar is the unique pop up style door handles. In lock mode the door handles simply blend with the body of the car. However hit unlock and the door handle simply ejects allowing ingress into this classy new mid-size luxury SUV.
On the inside the Range Rover Velar you get your standard offering of five different interior tones for seats and dashboard trims. One of the key features would be the the new touch and gesture sensitive steering controls which take UI-interactive interior to the next level.
The sharp design on the Tail-lamps of the Range Rover Velar, appear to take cues from both the Evoque and the full-size Rangie, the sharp design placed in the characteristically Range Rover Rear piece, makes for a fresh visual feature!
The Range Rover Velar benefits from two centrally mounted touch-screen systems. Each screen with a unique range of functions. Paired with a sound system by Meridian, this adds quite a bit of flair to the Velars interiors!
